I have had a life time passion for art. I studied art at the Port Elizabeth Technicon (now NMMMU) in 1986.
I grew up surrounded by nature and birds and have always felt a deep connection to the quiet places where we can hear our souls . I am a wife and a mother to two beautiful daughters, who inspire me every day.
My birds theme recently came about after a time in my life that I found that I needed to find calm. And it was to the birds that my heart turned . I have a passion for bird photography, whether on the beach or inland. The birds are a constant distraction for me from traffic, and the stresses of living in a big city. They are always around and I find them blissfully soothing.
I hardly ever listen to music while painting, just the chatting of the birds around our house.
My work is in collections all over the world: Dubai, Mallorca, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, Scotland and our Cape galleries.
I am quite an introvert and sell mostly online and by appointment from my home.
My hope is that my art brings the peace and joy that I experienced while creating these pieces into your homes. Most of them are quite quiet pieces, but if you listen carefully you'll hear the soft chirping of my little birds and a fluttering of wings.
